The Holistic Wellness wheel consist of eight dimensions. These dimensions include: social, physical, emotional, occupational, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and financial.
The first dimension is social. Your social wellness involves you having a strong social network. When you are stressed a strong social network can help provide guidance and support to help you relieve stress. A strong social network is where you begin the development of healthy relationships.
Next up is the physical dimension. Your physical wellness is where you take care of your body. This includes exercise and nutrition. You must get your bodies moving and eat well balanced meals. This also includes your health, safety, and sleep.
Now we get into our emotional dimension. Having healthy emotional health is very important to your overall health. Your emotional health begins with recognizing, being aware of, and validating your feelings. Emotional health also includes recognizing, being aware of, and validating your emotional response to different situations. It also includes your ability to cope with stressors and situations. Start focusing on getting adequate sleep.
The next dimension is occupational. This dimension is a no brainer. It deals with your career and professional choices. Your professional choices could help you build an individual sense of fulfillment. Focus on your unique talents.
The fifth dimension is spiritual. The spiritual dimension is where you understand your purpose, beliefs, ethics, and values. This helps you place your values as the main compass to make decisions and choices. Start spending time asking and exploring your spiritual well being.
The sixth dimension is intellectual. Your intellectual dimension is where you continue to engage yourself into learning new and exciting things. It gives you the ability to engage into creative and critical thinking. So grab a book and read it for your pleasure. Stay informed.
Next up is the environmental dimension. Our environments play a major role in our health. In the environmental dimension you must take care of your global and personal surroundings. In the environmental dimension you understand your environment in a comprehensive way. This dimension includes the immediate physical environment, as well as your community and broader environment. Start by de-cluttering your room or any room in your home.
Last up is the financial dimension. This dimension includes your current financial situation and resources. Financial wellness helps you to take steps to live within your financial means. Here you plan for future financial health. Start by creating you a financial budget.
Now that you what the dimensions of holistic wellness are start making small steps every day to improve your quality of life.
